Illinois Condominium Property Act

If you own a condominium in Illinois, your condominium association is governed by the Illinois Condominium Property Act, 765 ILCS 605. The Act governs condominium declarations, descriptions in deeds, partitioning of common elements and the sharing of expenses among unit owners, bylaws, and many other issues related to condominium associations, unit owners, and condominium developers.

If you are a purchaser of a new construction condominium and feel that you have been deceived by your developer regarding the number of units, amendments to your condominium declaration, or the common areas of the development, the Condominium Property Act may provide you with a right of action.
